Recombinant Human ACE2 (HEK Expressed) - 1.0 mg
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the causative agent of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), is an enveloped, single-stranded, positive-sense RNA virus that belongs to the Coronaviridae family1. Angiotensin I converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) is an exopeptidase that catalyses the conversion of angiotensin I to the nonapeptide angiotensin[1-9].2 ,or the conversion of angiotensin II to angiotensin 1-7.3 ACE 2 has direct effects on cardiac function3, and is expressed predominantly in vascular endothelial cells of the heart and the kidneys.4 ACE2 plays a regulatory role in lung pathophysiology, including pulmonary fibrosis and acute lung disease. Activation of ACE2 by a small molecule can be a therapeutically relevant approach for treating and controlling Pulmonary Hypertension (PH).5 ACE2 may also have clinical potential as a novel molecular target for the treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).6
