Recombinant SARS-CoV-2, S1-mFc Protein - 500 µg

This recombinant SARS-CoV-2 S1 protein is with the mFc tag. The SARS-CoV-2 Spike (S) Protein consists of the S1 and S2 domains. The S1 subunit contains the N-terminal domain (NTD) and receptor-binding domain (RBD). The S1 subunit recognizes and binds to angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptors on target cells through the RBD portion, and subsequent conformational changes in S2 allow for fusion between the viral envelope and host cell membrane. SARS-CoV-2 is closely related to the SARS virus, which was first identified in 2002-20031. Both SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 utilize the ACE2 cell receptor to gain entry into cells, with SARS-CoV-2 binding with higher affinity2.
