It is expressed in various tissues including spleen, bone marrow, liver, muscle, and gut.1 CCL13 activates monocytes, but does not induce their chemotaxis. CCL14 is of recent interest because of its natural ability to bind to and signal through the human immunodeficiency virus type-1 (HIV-1) co-receptor, CC chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5).2
