A monoterpene with diverse biological activities; scavenges DPPH and ABTS+ free radicals (IC50s = 2.8 and 30 mM, respectively); reduces APPH-induced hemolysis in isolated human erythrocytes; reduces the growth of T. evansi; increases membrane permeability and decreases growth of X. oryzae bacteria; reduces Triton WR1339-induced increases in serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels in rats at 100 mg/kg; reduces histamine-, bradykinin-, carrageenan, and PGE2-induced paw edema in mice; inhibits fluid extravasation in a mouse model of acetic acid microvascular permeability; reduces neutrophil migration in lung in a mouse model of acute lung injury
