Prostaglandin D Synthase (lipocalin-type, human) ELISA Kit
Lipocalin-type PGDS (a.k.a., β-trace) is a homodimer with each subunit ranging in size from 20-31 kDa, depending on the extent of glycosylation. L-PGDS has two functions: it catalyzes the conversion of PGH2 to PGD2 and acts as a carrier protein for lipid-like molecules (i.e., retinoids and thyroid hormones). L-PGDS is present in a variety of body fluids including cerebrospinal fluid, seminal fluid, and plasma. Cayman’s L-PGDS (human) ELISA is an immunometric (i.e., sandwich) ELISA with a standard curve ranging from 1.56-100 ng/ml and a limit of detection of 1.56 ng/ml. This assay has been validated using CSF which contains approximately 12-30 µg/ml of L-PGDS.
