Human STIP1 protein, His tag (active)
Human STIP1 protein, His tag (active)
Tax included
STIP1 is an adaptor protein that coordinates the functions of HSP7 (see HSPA1A; MIM 1455) and HSP9 (see HSP9AA1; MIM 14571) in protein folding. It is thought to assist in the transfer of proteins from HSP7 to HSP9 by binding both HSP9 and substrate-bound HSP7. STIP1 also stimulates the ATPase activity of HSP7 and inhibits the ATPase activity of HSP9, suggesting that it regulates both the conformations and ATPase cycles of these chaperones (Song and Masison, 25 [PubMed 161115]).[supplied by OMIM, Jul 29]
