The Mag-Bind® Universal Pathogen 96 Kit allows rapid and reliable isolation of high-quality host genomic DNA, gram-positive and negative bacterial DNA, fungal spore DNA, viral DNA and viral RNA from tissue, urine, serum, and fecal samples. The Mag-Bind® Universal Pathogen 96 Kit has a mechanical homogenization step using ceramics beads ranging from 0.1 mm to 2.7 mm to effectively lyse a variety of pathogens. The formulated lysis buffers do not foam during lysis allowing for better homogenization of samples. The system allows for automation after sample lysis via Hamilton STAR, Thermo KingFisher Flex, Applied Biosystem® MagMAX, Qiagen Biosprint, and other liquid handling instruments. The system combines the Mag-Bind® technology with RBB Buffer to eliminate PCR inhibiting compounds within the samples. Purified DNA is suitable for PCR, restriction digestion, and hybridization applications. There are no organic extractions, thus reducing plastic waste and hands-on time and multiple samples can be processed in parallel.

The Mag-Bind® Blood & Tissue DNA HDQ Prefilled 96 Kit includes prefilled plates in 96-well standard automation format. The configuration of this kit works seamlessly on magnetic processors such as the Thermo Fisher Scientific KingFisher® Flex, QIAGEN BioSprint®, and Applied Biosystems MagMAX® Express-96. Included in this kit are all plastic accessories, including tip combs, that are needed for an extraction run post-lysis. The Mag-Bind® Total RNA 96 Kit provides a novel technology for total RNA isolation. This kit allows the rapid and reliable isolation of high-quality total cellular RNA and viral RNA from a wide variety of cells and tissues. Unlike column-based systems, the binding of nucleic acids to magnetic particles occurs in solution resulting in increased binding kinetics and binding efficiency. Particles are also completely re-suspended during the wash steps of the purification protocol, which improves the removal of contaminants and increases nucleic acid purity. Mag-Bind® Total RNA 96 Kit procedure can be fully automated with most robotic workstations.
