Mag-Bind® Bacterial DNA 96 Kit Reference: M2350-00 The Mag-BIND® Bacterial DNA 96 Kit allows rapid and reliable isolation of high-quality genomic DNA (gDNA) from a wide variety of bacterial species. Up to 0.5 mL gram positive or gram negative bacterial culture can be processed each time. The key to the system is Omega Bio-tek's proprietary Mag-BIND® particles that avidly, but reversibly, binds DNA or RNA under certain optimal conditions allowing proteins and other contaminants to be removed. After bacterial cells are collected from culture or picked from an agar plate, the bacterial cell wall is removed by lysozyme digestion, followed by Proteinase K digestion. Following lysis, binding conditions are adjusted and the sample is mixed with Mag-BIND particles to bind DNA. Three rapid wash steps remove trace salts and protein contaminants, and finally, DNA is eluted in water or low ionic strength buffer. Purified DNA can be directly used in downstream applications without the need for further purification.

Mag-Bind® FFPE RNA 96 Kit Reference: M2551-00 The Mag-BIND® FFPE RNA 96 kit is specially designed for isolation of total RNA from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. The sample is first processed in a special buffer by heating to deactivated RNases/DNase and deparaffinization. Then the lysate is treated with Proteinase K to digest proteins. The cleared lysate is then mixed with Mag-BIND® particles to capture the capture RNA. After a few quick wash steps, purified RNA can be eluted with water or low salt buffer.

Mag-Bind® cfDNA Kit Reference: M3298-00 The Mag-Bind® cfDNA Kit is designed for rapid and reliable isolation of circulating DNA from 500-10,000 µL plasma or serum samples. The Mag-Bind® cfDNA Kit can be processed manually or on an automated platform. The procedure eliminates the need for funnels and vacuum steps, providing hands-free operation in automated protocols. The uniquely formulated binding buffer allows for large sample volumes to be processed in automated formats which allow for 4 mL of serum or plasma to be processed in a single well in 24-well plate format. The magnetic response of the Mag-Bind® Particles CH allows for fast magnetization during steps requiring high volumes, and the high binding capacity allows for reduced amounts of magnetic particles required, thus reducing the elution volume down to 50 µL for 4mL serum or plasma samples.

Mag-Bind® Universal Pathogen DNA 96 Kit Reference: M4029-00 The Mag-Bind® Universal Pathogen 96 Kit allows rapid and reliable isolation of high-quality host genomic DNA, gram-positive and negative bacterial DNA, fungal spore DNA, viral DNA and viral RNA from tissue, urine, serum, and fecal samples. The Mag-Bind® Universal Pathogen 96 Kit has a mechanical homogenization step using ceramics beads ranging from 0.1 mm to 2.7 mm to effectively lyse a variety of pathogens. The formulated lysis buffers do not foam during lysis allowing for better homogenization of samples. The system allows for automation after sample lysis via Hamilton STAR, Thermo KingFisher Flex, Applied Biosystem® MagMAX, Qiagen Biosprint, and other liquid handling instruments. The system combines the Mag-Bind® technology with RBB Buffer to eliminate PCR inhibiting compounds within the samples. Purified DNA is suitable for PCR, restriction digestion, and hybridization applications. There are no organic extractions, thus reducing plastic waste and hands-on time and multiple samples can be processed in parallel.
