The Mag-BIND® Plant DNA Plus 96 Kit allows rapid and reliable isolation of high-quality genomic DNA from a wide variety of difficult to lyse and high polysaccharide plant species and tissues. The system utilizes a CTAB based lysis buffer without the need for chloroform or other organic solvent steps. The proprietary wash buffer systems eliminate polysaccharides, phenolic compounds, and enzyme inhibitors from plant tissue lysates. This kit is designed for manual or fully automated high throughput preparation of genomic, chloroplast, and mitochondrial DNA. The Mag-BIND® Plant DNA Kit also provides greater flexibility than silica plate-based systems as partial plates can be used and can be scaled up to a 24-well format with the appropriate magnetic stand. The streamlined protocol can be easily adapted on most robotic liquid handling platforms. Purified DNA is suitable for PCR, qPCR, restriction digestion, hybridization applications, and more demanding applications such as RAPD.

The Mag-Bind® Plant DNA DS 96 Kit allows rapid and reliable isolation of high-quality genomic DNA from plants and other tissues that are particularly difficult to lyse or very high in polysaccharide content. The lysis and binding buffers are specifically designed to minimize co-purification of polysaccharides and polyphenols. Up 96 samples of 50 mg wet tissue (or 15 mg dry tissue) can be processed in parallel in less than one hour. The system combines CTAB-based lysis, which eliminates the need for organic solvents, with the convenience of Mag-Bind® Particles to eliminate polysaccharides, phenolic compounds, and enzyme inhibitors from plant tissue lysates. This kit is designed for manual or fully automated high throughput preparation of genomic, chloroplast, and mitochondrial DNA. Purified DNA is suitable for PCR, restriction digestion, next-generation sequencing, and hybridization applications. There are no organic extractions thereby reducing consumables and decreasing hands-on time to allow multiple samples to be processed in parallel.

The Mag-Bind® family of products is an innovative system that radically simplifies extraction and purification of nucleic acids from a variety of sources. Key to the system is Omega Bio-tek's proprietary Mag-Bind® Particle that avidly, but reversibly, binds DNA or RNA under certain optimal conditions allowing proteins and other contaminants to be removed. Nucleic acids are easily eluted with deionized water or low salt buffer. The Mag-Bind® Ultra-Pure Plasmid DNA 96 Kit combines the power of Mag-Bind® technology with the innovative ETR technology (Endo-toxin removal) to deliver high-quality endotoxin-free plasmid DNA in high throughput format. Yields vary according to plasmid copy number, E.coli strain, and conditions of growth, 1 mL of overnight culture in LB medium typically produces 10-15 g for high-copy plasmid. The purified plasmid can be used directly for automated fluorescent DNA sequencing, such as with BigDye® sequencing chemistry, transfection as well as for other standard molecular biology techniques including restriction enzyme digestion.

The Mag-Bind® SeqDTR is designed for efficient and reliable removal of unincorporated dye terminators from sequencing reactions. The system combines Omega Bio-tek's proprietary chemistry with the reversible nucleic acid-binding properties of paramagnetic beads to eliminate excess nucleotides, primers, salts, and unincorporated dye terminators. This kit is designed for both manual and fully automated purification of sequencing products, and the protocol has been successfully automated on liquid handlers such as Beckman Coulter's Biomek® FX/NX, and the Hamilton Microlab® STAR/STARlet. With the high recovery rate from the Mag-Bind® SeqDTR Kit, typically only 1/16 or 1/32 of the ABI Big Dye reagents are needed for sufficient signal strength when compared to sephadex-based clean ups.
