Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) South America, Charcoal Stripping: Charcoal / Dextran stripping reduces the concentration of steroid hormones in serum such as estradiol, progesterone, cortisol, testosterone, T3 and T4. This serum is usefull where there endogenous molecules may interfere with experimental works. This serum may show some reduced growth promotion ability for cells requiring the presence of certain hormones.
